Rules & Regulations for DMF's Yuva Sur Sartaj competition
Before you participate in the Auditions organized by Dedhia Music Foundation (“DMF”), please ensure you have read and understood these Rules and Regulations. By choosing to participate, you accept and agree to adhere to these Rules and Regulations and confirm that you meet all the listed eligibility criteria.
These Rules and Regulations oversee the entire Audition process (both online and offline) for the singing competition named “Yuva Sur Sartaj” (“Competition”). They apply to every individual (“Participant”, “Contestant”, “You”) who voluntarily enters the Auditions. Participation is open to all residents and citizens of India (“Territory”). The selection process is conducted by DMF with the intent of choosing participants for the Program, which may be broadcast on, among others, DMF social media accounts, or any other channel(s) considered appropriate by DMF (“Channel(s)”).

4. Stages of Competition
- Stage 1: Online Application
Participants must submit their applications through the official website. - Stage 2: Online Audition
Shortlisted candidates will perform live virtually. - Stage 3: Live Audition
Selected participants from the virtual round will audition in person. DMF will provide each participant of the Stage 3 (Final audition round) with a fixed amount to compensate for travel and accommodation expenses.

6. Age Groups for Participation
- Group 1: 15 to 22 years
- Group 2: 23 to 30 years
7. Scope
This contest is open to participants from all over India.
Note: DMF has the right to alter the rules and regulations of the competition as well as the performance guidelines if required. Applicants will be notified of any such changes.
8. Participant Eligibility
- Be above 15 years of age as of June 1st 2024 but not above 30 years of age as of 31st October, 2024.
- Be a citizen of India and residing in India.
- Be of sound mind and health.
- Have no criminal convictions.
- Have no existing arrangements or contractual obligations that prevent participation.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations of the contest.
- Employees of the DMF, Producer, advertising agency, process advisors and auditors, agents, process partners, and anyone associated with the contest.
- Employees of the sponsors and their immediate family members.
- Non-Indian nationals or Indian nationals living outside India.
- Those who do not qualify under the definition of resident of India as per the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Participants who have previously advanced to televised rounds in any similar contest.
9. Note for Minors:
- For participants under 18 years of age, all rules and regulations apply to their parent/legal guardian, who must agree to be bound by these rules on behalf of the Minor. DMF reserves the right to disqualify a participant if it is discovered that the Minor participated without the due consent, knowledge, and awareness of their parent/legal guardian, or if the participant is found to be in breach of any rules and regulations. Additionally, the Participant and/or Parent/Legal Guardian (in case of Minor Participant) must ensure that the acts/performances in the audition video do not infringe any rights, including the copyright of a third person/party. Any violation will result in immediate disqualification, and the Participant and/or Parent/Legal Guardian will be solely liable for any resulting actions and must indemnify the DMF and its affiliates against any and all losses or claims.
10. Judges' Decisions
- The decisions made by the judges at each stage are final and binding. Participants cannot challenge or appeal the judges’ decisions.
- DMF reserves the right to change the judges’ panel if required due to unforeseen circumstances.
11. Live Streaming
Stages 2 and 3 will be streamed live on the social media pages of Dedhia Music Foundation.
12. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout the competition. This includes:
- Respect for Others: Treat all participants, judges, organizers, and viewers with respect and courtesy.
- Integrity: Performances must be genuine and original. Plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.
- Compliance with Rules: Adhere to all competition rules and guidelines.
- Punctuality: Be punctual for all scheduled events and performances.
- Appropriate Conduct: Maintain appropriate behavior both online and offline.
- Safety and Welfare: Prioritize safety and welfare during all performances.
- Consequences of Misconduct:
- Immediate disqualification.
- Removal from all future DMF events.
- Potential legal action if necessary.
13. General Disclaimer for Hosting Events
13.1 Accuracy of Information: DMF reserves the right to make modifications or changes to the contest details without prior notice.
13.2 Participant Responsibility: Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and any other expenses incurred during the contest. DMF will not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from participation.
13.3 Health and Safety: Participants must comply with all applicable health and safety regulations during the event.
13.4 Intellectual Property: The Participant(s) and/or the Parent/Legal Guardian of the Minor Participant(s) hereby agree and irrevocably acknowledge that the DMF shall have the sole and exclusive right, including but not limited to intellectual property rights (copyrights and trademarks) and other proprietary rights, in and to the Competition, the Participant’s appearance and participation on the Competition, the Parent’s or the Legal Guardian’s appearance on the Competition, and all its components whatsoever. All performances and submissions become the intellectual property of DMF. Contestants agree to allow DMF to use their submissions for promotional purposes.
13.5 Privacy: Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for the contest and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
13.6 Liability: DMF will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the contest. This includes, but is not limited to: personal injury, property damage, financial loss, third-party claims.
13.7 Participation Costs: Participation in this Competition and the audition process is free of cost. Participants are advised to exercise caution against any individual or entity demanding money or its equivalent for participation. DMF abhors such practices and disclaims all responsibility for the same. DMF shall not be liable to any Participant for any amount paid in this regard.
13.8 Travel and Participation Risks: The DMF, Producer, and its subcontractors will not be responsible or liable for any loss, injury, or other liability incurred while traveling to or participating in the Competition. Participants and their Parent/Legal Guardian must sign an indemnity in favor of the DMF and agree to release and discharge the DMF, its affiliates, agents, and associated entities from any claims, actions, damages, or liabilities arising from participation.
13.9 Incorrect Information: If at any time, including after the disbursement of the prize, any information submitted by the Participant(s) is found to be incorrect, false, or otherwise misrepresented or misleading, the Participant(s) shall be liable to refund all amounts received from the DMF.
13.10 Jurisdiction
These rules and regulations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this contest shall be resolved through mediation and arbitration at Mumbai, in accordance with the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English and shall be presided over by a sole arbitrator appointed by the DMF.
